About The Il Piccolo Players
The Il Piccolo Players is a group of amateur dramatists who have been re-enacting and performing ’Old Time Radio’ shows since 2005. Directed by Cathy Foxhoven the group has used scripts from such classic radio shows as ’The Shadow’, ’The Whistler’ and ’The First Nighter’. All shows have been performed in the Il Piccolo Caffe on Broadway, Burlingame CA and more recently also in the studios of local cable operator Comcast.
Eschewing modern audio devices, the Il Piccolo Players create the sound effects of these atmospheric pieces using original sound effect devices. The performances have been captured on DVD and are available for a minimal charge.
